Description
This virtual training is tailored for professionals working in family-serving agencies. Participants will examine the most prevalent substance use trends affecting youth today, compare urban and rural usage patterns, and learn to identify early warning signs of substance use. The session will also introduce practical screening tools for early detection and guide intervention efforts at both the collaborative and practice levels. Emphasizing cross-system collaboration, the training provides evidence-based strategies to enhance participants' responses to youth substance use and strengthen partnerships among youth-serving organizations. Attendees will be equipped with actionable tools and strategies to enhance care coordination, cross-systems communication, and well-being outcomes across disciplines working with youth and their families.
Objectives
By the end of the presentation, participants will be able to:
• Identify at least three emerging national drug trends
• Describe differences in the substance use patterns of urban and rural communities
• Identify strategies to prevent, identify, and treat adolescent substance use disorders across the
care continuum.
